MAY 23 – 28, 2013 MOVIN &
GROOVIN
We took a week off, well not exactly as we did have some
moving to do. We left Lahitas and headed
to Fort Stockton. It was a long drive
and we got there early in the PM. This
gave us time to do a fairly big grocery shop; Fort Stockton is the biggest town
in the area. We were staying at the
Hilltop RV and found out that when you are in a combined desert, plains area it
might not be such a good idea. The wind
was a blowin and we was a rockin. The
most we had ever felt the coach move.
The next day we headed for Artesia, we really wanted to stay
in Carlsbad but the parks that could take our coach were full. So Artesia it was. We were hoping to get a little relief from
the heat but that didn’t work out. As a
result we hid from the heat and rested.
One of the reasons we hid was that we didn’t want to fight any of the
long weekend crowds. Been there done
that. We didn’t completely hibernate as
we had maintenance to do to the coach and the car needed washing. A trip to the grocery store, the bank and the
post office were also necessary, but for e the most part we hid from the heat
and relaxed.
